hi,

I bought this book for my pregnant wife but she doesn’t like a book without photo’s. Furthermore, they should put the health benefits in each recipe for the baby and mother.

Overall, recipes are good and I will recommend to pregnant women.

This book has become the most used recipe book in our home. These nutritious recipes are excellent as is, but the three adaptations per recipe have made this book a favorite. Most of the recipes are easy to pull together and taste amazing. My husband loves this book as well. The Whole Grain Pancakes are a weekly staple in our home now. Though we got this book for pregnancy, we’ll continue to cook from this book long after all the other pregnancy books are packed away!

Don’t think this book is only great for pregnant women – which it is for sure. It is also a fantastic cook book for anyone that wants to eat nourishing foods that taste really good and are easy to make. Thankfully I am way out of the pregnant category yet I find this to be my most used cookbook. There are all kinds of flavorful and truly healthful recipes that I love here – carrot soup with coriander, curry, ginger and chives is one, and then there’s roasted cauliflower or the broccoli with garlic and lemon – just for starters. What makes this cookbook different and really helpful is that with each recipe Ms. Gurwitz offers you three different ways to adjust the ingredients to adapt to how you’re feeling. I whole-heartedly recommend this book for moms to be and for all lovers of tasty and healthy food.

I was looking for a solid, diverse cookbook to help me prepare tasty meals for my pregnant wife. I settled on The Well-Rounded Cookbook and have been very pleased. 4 1/2 stars I’d say! What I miss are the pictures. There are no pictures in the book to inspire me. One of our favorite recipes though is the Yellow Corn Meal Blueberry Muffins. A highlight to this book is that for every recipe, there are 3 alternative ways to prepare it depending on how my finicky, “well-rounded” wife is feeling that moment. The smoothies have become a staple in our house every morning. I’ve even gifted this book to a friend couple who are pregnant.

This book has wonderful easy to do, healthy recipies. You can customize your meal for how you are feeling in your pregnancy. My husband loved the meals I made following the recipies from this book. I highly recommend this book to all people, pregnant or not.
